Chase Your Qualifying Times – The Season Begins Here
Get ready for the Brian Button Invitational Gala, a high-performance racing opportunity for Level 2 and higher swimmers. Taking place on 17–18 January 2026 at the UWC Swimming Pool.
This meet follows the Level 2+ competition programme and is open to fully registered WCA swimmers. Events are swum as timed finals, seeded slow to fast.

Dates: Saturday 17 & Sunday 18 January 2026
Venue: 🏊 UWC Swimming Pool, Robert Sobukwe Road, Bellville, Cape Town
Eligibility: Level 2+ swimmers only (16&O Level 2 swimmers included)
Format: Timed finals | Slow-to-fast seeding
Age Groups (entry): 13 & Under / 14 & Over
Age Groups (results): 10&U, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17&O
No Times: Allowed
Custom Times: Not allowed
Special Notes
Swimmers entering 800/1500 Freestyle or 400 IM with NT must have prior times in related distance events:
1500 Free ➝ must have 800 or 400 Free
800 Free ➝ must have 400 Free
400 IM ➝ must have 200 IM.
Swimmers compete in the age group they fall under on the first day of the gala.
Sessions may be combined depending on total entries.
Withdrawals & Penalties
Scratches up to 30 mins before start: No charge
R100 fine per event for late scratches or no-shows
Illness withdrawals must be accompanied by a medical certificate
Only coaches or team managers may do scratchings
Fines must be paid before swimming any further events
Not Attending?
If your child cannot attend, please notify us via WhatsApp by Monday, 5 January 2026 at 09h00. After this time, entries will be finalised and invoiced.
